Where CTET Qualification Is Accepted
The CTET certificate is valid for schools under the central government such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), and Central Tibetan Schools. It is also valid in schools run by Union Territories like Delhi, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.
Private schools may also use CTET scores to hire teachers. Some state governments also accept CTET results if they do not have their own State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
Supreme Court Decision on CTET
Recently, the Supreme Court made an important decision regarding the CTET exam. It ruled that CTET qualification is now mandatory for all in-service teachers. This means teachers who are already working in schools must clear the TET exam to get promotions.
Following this order, government school teachers in Delhi have asked the state government to file a review petition. Many teacher groups believe the rule will affect teachers across the country.
